Jinha was born in South Korea but moved to the United States when she was 8 years old. Growing up, she was fascinated with literature, languages and theology, so she decided to combine all three interests in her undergraduate studies at Princeton University, where she took courses in English, French & German literature, as well as courses in religion and philosophy.
Although at first intending to teach literature, she realized that her greatest passion was sharing the beauty and truth of Jesus with others. So when the opportunity came for her to work in 2005 as the Urban Outreach Coordinator at the Church of the Advent Hope in Manhattan, NYC, she said “yes” to the call to ministry.
She got her Master of Divinity degree from the Andrews Theological Seminary in 2010 and worked for Living Springs Fellowship until August 2012, when she and her husband Roy answered the call to come to Melbourne, Australia, to plant a church in the inner city.
Jinha, Roy, and their two cheeky sons are enjoying living in the “most livable city in the world” and are excited and grateful for the opportunity to share the love of God with the city of Melbourne.
