Discussion Questions for “Exploring God’s Mission through the Fall”
These questions are here to stimulate dialogue about today’s topic – feel free to skip around or discuss items not listed below.
- Tim Mackie says that the tree of knowledge of good and evil represents a choice, to either allow God to decide what is right and wrong or to personally make that decision ourselves. Why do you think this single decision is so important to God?
- Henri Nouwen says that there are three big lies that we all face. I am what I have, I am what I do, I am what people think of me. What do you think is so deceptive about these lies? What’s wrong with building identity from possessions, achievement, and public opinion? In what ways does God give you relief from these lies?
- In what ways are God’s grace greater than God’s judgment?
- Please share with each other something you’re grateful for from the week and something you’d like prayer for – then pray together as a group.
Thank you for coming today and contributing to our discussion!
