These questions are here to stimulate dialogue about today’s topic – feel free to skip around or discuss items not listed here.
1. Think about a time you tried a new approach for something you’d always done a certain way. What prompted you to try something different? How did you feel when you were waiting to see if it would work, and what was the outcome?
2.Why do you think Peter obeyed Jesus’ instructions, even though these contradicted Peter’s own knowledge and experience as a fisherman?
3. Have you ever had an experience where God asked you to do something that didn’t make sense at the time? How did you respond?
4. Why is it important to not only recognise God’s blessings, but also to have an awareness of our own sins? What role do both have on our lives and in our understanding of God?
5. What three things in your life do you consider to be the most important (*other than your relationship with God). What would be your reaction if God asked you leave one or more of these behind, in order to follow Him?
6. Reflecting on what was shared in the sermon, are you more like the Sea of Galilee or the Dead Sea?
7. Where are you are at the moment in your journey with God? Do you know what your next step is?
