Discussion Questions for 17 Feb 2024 “the Power of Worship”

  1. In what ways does understanding God as Yahweh – “He is Who He is” – impact your faith and trust in Him, especially in challenging times?
  2. Why do you think God chose to reveal Himself as El Shaddai to the patriarchs and as Yahweh to Moses? What does this reveal about God’s interaction with us in our unique life situations?
  3. How does faith play a role in understanding and accepting the complexity of God’s character as revealed through His names?
  4. Jesus often referred to Himself in ways that echoed the name Yahweh by making “I AM” statements (e.g., John 8:53-58). How do these statements deepen our understanding of Jesus’ identity?
  5. Despite the Israelites’ doubt, Yahweh fulfilled His promise to deliver them from Egypt. How does reflecting on God’s faithfulness in the past help you trust Him with your future?
