Sermon: ‘Run Long’
These questions are a starting point to help spark discussion that digs deeper into today’s topic – feel free to adapt or add additional questions of your own.
1. Hebrews 12:1 talks about “throwing off everything that entangles.” How can we become more aware of what is influencing us and decide which influences might be holding us back?
2. How has a sense of community helped you to persevere during difficult times? Can you think of a Bible story where companionship played a key role in endurance or faith?
3. Hebrews 12:2 urges us to fix our eyes on Jesus. What are some practical ways you focus on Jesus daily, especially when life feels challenging?
4. Jesus persevered through great hardship because of the joy and purpose He saw ahead. What is the ‘joy set before you’ that encourages you to keep going in your faith and life?
5. What is one step you can commit to help you “run long” in your faith: whether that’s building better habits, seeking out Christian fellowship or intentionally focusing more on Jesus? How can we support each other in this?
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and being involved in today’s discussion!
