Day 1:

“I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea…But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. The wild animals in the fields will thank me, the jackals and owls, too, for giving them water in the desert. Yes, I will make rivers in the dry wasteland so my chosen people can be refreshed. I have made Israel for myself, and they will someday honor me before the whole world.” Isaiah 43:16-21 NLT

Happy New Year! God has already done amazing things for us, making a way when troubles and obstacles seemed impossible to navigate. This text promises that He will do even greater things – providing refreshment that will bless us and those around us in our care. I love that He does this regardless of the fact we don’t honour him NOW – He does all this for the “someday” – because He believes in us even when we don’t. What desert are you in now? How have you already seen the stream beginning to flow? It’s coming and will become a fountain! Praying for each of you by name – have a wonderful first day of 2019

Day 2:

Matthew 6:9-13

Our Father in heaven,

may your name be kept holy.

May your Kingdom come soon.

May your will be done on earth,

as it is in heaven.

Give us today the food we need,

and forgive us our sins,

as we have forgiven those who sin against us.

And don’t let us yield to temptation,

but rescue us from the evil one.

Jesus taught us how to pray – to prioritise God (His name glorified, His Kingdom prepared, His will done) as we trust that God will also prioritise us (providing for our needs, forgiving our sins, and rescuing us from evil).  How does God show that He values you?  And how can you value God’s cause more today?  Put the Lord’s prayer in your words and talk with God today.
