Discussion Questinos 12 October 2024

These questions are here to stimulate dialogue about today’s topic – feel free to skip around or discuss items not listed below.

  1. What was most memorable for you from the sermon (whether you liked or disliked it)?
  2. The story of Jesus healing the blind man (John 9) emphasises how the Pharisees refused to believe even after witnessing a miracle. What does this tell us about the relationship between evidence and belief? If you were to witness a miraculous healing today, what factors might still cause doubt or skepticism?
  3. Jesus’ parable of the sower (Mathew 19) explains that the seed is scattered everywhere, but only certain soils produce a harvest. How can we cultivate “good soil”?
  4. The idea that “to see, you must first believe” presents a paradox. Why is belief often a prerequisite for seeing spiritual truth? How does this relate to the idea that God reveals Himself to those who are already seeking?
  5. Share a time when you “saw” or experienced God’s presence / leading.

Thank you for coming today and contributing to our discussion.
