Discussion Questinos 12 October 2024
These questions are here to stimulate dialogue about today’s topic – feel free to skip around or discuss items not listed below.
- What was most memorable for you from the sermon (whether you liked or disliked it)?
- The story of Jesus healing the blind man (John 9) emphasises how the Pharisees refused to believe even after witnessing a miracle. What does this tell us about the relationship between evidence and belief? If you were to witness a miraculous healing today, what factors might still cause doubt or skepticism?
- Jesus’ parable of the sower (Mathew 19) explains that the seed is scattered everywhere, but only certain soils produce a harvest. How can we cultivate “good soil”?
- The idea that “to see, you must first believe” presents a paradox. Why is belief often a prerequisite for seeing spiritual truth? How does this relate to the idea that God reveals Himself to those who are already seeking?
- Share a time when you “saw” or experienced God’s presence / leading.
Thank you for coming today and contributing to our discussion.
