Discussion questions 13 September 2025

These questions are a starting point to help spark discussion that digs deeper into today’s topic – feel free to adapt or add additional questions of your own.

1. What do you think the word “sin” means to people today? How does the Bible’s view, that sin is not just breaking rules but breaking relationships, reshape the way we understand good and evil?

2. Many people wrestle with the question: “Why did God allow sin in the first place?” How do you personally respond to the idea that love requires freedom, including the freedom to rebel? How does that shape your view of God’s character?

3. Sin doesn’t only affect individuals, it affects whole communities and systems. What are some examples of “structural sin” in the world today (e.g. injustice, inequality, corruption)? What role do you think Christians should play in addressing these larger injustices?

4. Read and reflect on Micah 6:8 [click to read online]. When you look at the suffering in the world, what kind of responsibility does this verse place on us? What might that look like in your own life this week?

5. What is one practical step you can take this week to bring hope, healing or justice to someone around you? Whether in your workplace, relationships or community, where might God be inviting you to join Him in His work of restoration?
