Discussion questions 14 June 2025

These questions are a starting point to help spark discussion that digs deeper into today’s topic – feel free to adapt or add additional questions of your own.

1. If your life were a house, what kind of foundation do you think it’s currently built on? Think about your values, routines, relationships, or beliefs. What feels solid? What might be a bit unstable?

2. What’s the difference between knowing a spiritual truth and actually living it out? Are there things you believe deeply, but still struggle to act on? Why do you think that disconnect happens?

3. In Genesis 6, Noah obeyed God’s instructions to build an ark, even before any rain had fallen. What do you think helped Noah follow through on something that seemed so radical or slow-moving? Is there an “ark” in your life right now: something God may be inviting you to build or do in faith, even if it doesn’t make immediate sense?

4. Does the image of God as a good parent and us as His children resonate with you? Why or why not?

5. Read James 1:22–25 [click to read online]. What are some ways we might deceive ourselves as “hearers only”? What does obedience look like in your daily life?

6. Reflect on one tangible step of obedience you can commit to this week to build a stormproof faith? It could be a conversation, a habit, an apology, setting a boundary, or starting a spiritual practice. What’s one thing you can commit to?
