Discussion Questions for “Exploring God’s Mission through Creation”

These questions are here to stimulate dialogue about today’s topic – feel free to skip around or discuss items not listed below.

  1. Complete the following sentences: “If God created the world, then….” “If God created me, then…”
  2. What does it mean that we were created in God’s image?
  3. In contrast to other ancient creation stories which centre around chaos between gods in the universe and humans being created to serve the gods, the Bible’s creation account centres around order and design. with humanity brought into a good world.  What picture of God does this portray?
  4. How does the Sabbath teach us to look at work as service?  What does that look like?
  5. God placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden “to work it and take care of it” (Get 2:15).  The original Hebrew words have religious meaning,” to serve, cultivate and guard” like the priests did of the temple of God.  How are we living out our intended role as priests of the Earth?  How can we do better?
  6. Please share with each other something you’re grateful for from the week and something you’d like prayer for – then pray together as a group.

Thank you for coming today and contributing to our discussion!
