Discussion Questions for “Why Church?”

These questions are here to stimulate dialogue about today’s topic – feel free to skip around or discuss items not listed below.

  2. What was meaningful, new, or challenging from today’s sermon?
  1. The Bible presents several metaphors for the church – the Temple of God, the Body of Christ, the Bride, a Household of God, a Building of living stones, etc.  Which metaphor most resonates with you and why?
  1. What are some barriers to committing to a local church? What are the rewards?  
  1. Which aspect of church do you think will matter most for a Christian looking for a local church?  For a non-christian visitor?  For someone on the fringes of church?
