Discussion questions for “Hannah: The weak made strong”

These questions are here to stimulate dialogue about today’s topic – feel free to skip around or discuss items not listed here.

1. “What is your greatest weakness?” is a common job interview question. Why is it asked and how would you generally approach it?

2. How or why might a perceived personal weakness make us feel uncomfortable or defensive? Does everyone view all weaknesses in the same way?

3. Is it possible to turn a genuine weakness into a genuine strength? What process would you adopt?

4. What stands out to you most in the story of Hannah? What is something you can apply in your life this week?

5. Think of some of the people God has used throughout the Bible. What are other examples of weakness (physical, emotional or psychological) that God has turned into a clear demonstration of His power at work in someone’s life?

6. How might feelings of vulnerability or uncertainty influence our understanding or openness to God, compared to times when life is going very smoothly and things feel ‘under control’?

7. Please share with each other something you’re grateful for from the week and something you’d like prayer for – then pray together as a group.
