Discussion Questions for “Rejection can be a blessing.”

These questions are here to stimulate dialogue about today’s topic – feel free to skip around or discuss items not listed below.

  1. Was there a time when you felt rejected?  How did you respond to it?
  2. Has God ever used a rejection in a positive way to re-direct you?  What blessings can come from rejection?
  3. Can you think of examples of when Jesus faced rejection? How did He deal with them?
  4. God’s own words say that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deut 31:6; Her 13:5). How might this promise and acceptance impact your journey in life?
  5. There are many in society who have been rejected.  You might even know people at work who have experienced rejection.  How can we bring healing and hope to them?
  6. Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”  In what ways can we learn to trust God more in times of rejection?
