Discussion questions 27 June 2026
‘Our generosity grows’
A John 6 study on the boy’s loaves and fish, exploring divine multiplication and abundance.
These questions are a starting point to help spark discussion that digs deeper into today’s topic – feel free to adapt or add additional questions of your own.
1. What’s a small act of generosity you’ve received that has stayed with you? Why do you think it mattered?
2. What stands out to you about the boy offering his lunch?
3. Why do you think Jesus chose to work through one ordinary person’s small gift instead of creating food from nothing? What might that suggest about how God works today?
4. After everyone had eaten, Jesus said, “Let nothing be wasted.” What does that teach us about generosity and stewardship?
5. Have you ever experienced God multiplying something you offered: whether your time, effort, resources, or encouragement? What happened?
6. Is there something you’ve been hesitant to offer because it feels too small – e.g. your time, skills, money, encouragement or hospitality? What’s one step of faith you could take this week?
