Discussion questions 3 October 2026

These questions are a starting point to help spark discussion that digs deeper into today’s topic – feel free to adapt or add additional questions of your own.
1. If you could send a letter to your future self with one piece of advice, what would you write?
2. What is the most common thing you ask God for?
3. Why should we pray if God already knows what we need?
4. Look through Matthew 6:5-15 and find everything Jesus says about the Father. How does knowing what God is like change the way you pray?
5. Peter asks how often he should forgive (Matthew 18:21-22). Where do you find forgiveness hardest, and why do we need to keep asking God for forgiveness ourselves?
6. If all your prayers for the last year were answered, how would your life, this church and the world look?
