Discussion Questions, ‘Won’t you be my neighbour? Love as Mission
These questions are here to stimulate dialogue about today’s topic – feel free to skip around or discuss items not listed below.
- What was meaningful to you from the sermon?
- How does redefining church not as a place or time but as the community of people who want to represent Jesus to the world, change or support your understanding of the purpose of church? Of the structure of church? Of the function of church?
- If you could start your own church in your own neighbourhood, what would it look like? Who would you invite to be in your team? Who would you try to reach? What methods or strategies of outreach would you implement? What would be the challenges, strengths, opportunities?
- What’s keeping you from BEING the church? From engaging in personal ministry?
- How can the the church support and empower you to BE the church and engage in mission?
- Who has been a neighbour to you? How did they show love/kindness?
- Who can you intentionally pray for? Who can you be present with this week?
- Please pray together as a group, for God to transform us into a missional community – and for any other personal prayer requests.
