Discussion questions 7 March 2026

These questions are a starting point to help spark discussion that digs deeper into today’s topic – feel free to adapt or add additional questions of your own.
1. When you think about the relationships closest to you (e.g. family, housemates, friends, church community, or colleagues) where do you see your faith shaping the way you relate to people? Where might you struggle to live it out?
2. Colossians 3:12–13 says: “Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience… Bear with each other and forgive one another.” Which of these qualities do you think requires the most spiritual maturity?
3. Sometimes it might feel easier to show kindness publicly rather than in the ordinary, less visible moments at home or with close friends. Why might it be harder to live out our faith consistently with the people who know us the best?
4. Read and reflect on Philippians 2:3–4. What does genuine humility in relationships actually look like: how is it different from simply being “nice”?
5. Jesus often expanded people’s understanding of who belongs to God’s family. When might loyalty to our own family or inner circle start to conflict with the broader call to love, serve and include others?
