1. What jumps out to you or surprises you about the interaction between God and Satan in Job 2:1-10?  What might Satan be wanting to get out of all of this? Why might God have allowed Satan to do these things to Job?
2. What can we learn from Job’s friends about how to comfort someone who is suffering? What have you found helpful and what have you found unhelpful when people have tried to comfort you?
3. How would you describe Job’s picture of God (cf Job 16:7-14)? What do you think led him to view God like this?
4. If you could share one thing with Job what would it be?
5. What do you think God is trying to get across to Job in Job 38:-11? Why doesn’t God explain to Job about the conversation with Satan in heaven?
6. What are you going to take away from our discussion today?
