  1. What significance does the setting of Shiloh, with its bustling activity and corrupt temple priests, add to the story of Hannah’s prayer and dedication of her son Samuel?
  2. Hannah made a vow to dedicate her son to the Lord. Do you think Hannah’s willingness to make such a sacrifice influenced the outcome of her situation? Do we have to make sacrifices for God to answer?
  3. Why is humility so important to God? What does it mean to humble ourselves before God? How does humility impact prayer?
  4. How can we persevere in faith in prayer when we aren’t seeing answers or evidence of God hearing us?
