In Remembrance of Them

“Discussion Questions 11 Nov 2023 “In Remembrance of Them”

These questions are here to stimulate dialogue about today’s topic – feel free to skip around or discuss items not listed here.

  1. The phrase “Known unto God” was engraved on markers for soldiers buried without identification. How does the concept of being “known unto God” impact your personal understanding of the value and significance of individual lives, especially in the face of historical events and conflicts?
  2. What are the implications for a bodily resurrection on our worldview, especially our understanding of judgment/justice, the Second Coming, and eternal life?
  3. How does the hope of resurrection shape one’s perspective on suffering and death?
  4. What do you think motivated the early Christians to persevere in the face of persecution?
  5. How does remembering the sacrifices of others influence our perspectives on faith and resilience?  Which stories in history or your own life inspire you to keep the faith?
  6. Reflect on the idea of “citizenship in heaven.” How might this perspective influence the way believers can engage with and contribute to earthly matters and social issues?

Thank you for coming today and contributing to our discussion.
