Discussion Questions for “How to Seek God’s Will”

These questions are here to stimulate dialogue about today’s topic – feel free to skip around or discuss items not listed here.

  1. What was most inspiring/interesting/memorable from today’s sermon?
  2. How is seeking God different from seeking God’s will?
  3. Do you find seeking God’s presence easier or harder than seeking God’s answers to specific questions?  Why/how?
  4. God responds to Moses’ request for revelation, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest” (Exodus 33:14).  Have you ever experienced rest in knowing God is with you, even when circumstances were challenging or unclear?
  5. How does surrendering our will to God allow God to give us rest?
  6. God also gave Moses His laws.  Why does God require us to uphold integrity, morality, and justice? How do God’s laws continue to provide guidance when making decisions and seeking His will?
  7. What area / situation in your life do you especially need God’s direction right now?  What can we keep in prayer for you?
