Discussion Questions 16 Nov 2024: The Resurrection of Christianity

  1. What was most memorable for you from the sermon (whether you liked or disliked it)?
  2. “If God does not exist, life is ultimately meaningless.” William Lane Craig. How do you feel about this statement?
  3. How might a Christ-centered worldview shape someone currently engaged in advocacy for issues like racism, sexuality, environmental justice, or peace? Could it bring any meaningful change to their approach or impact?
  4. How can the story of a Creator, a loving Saviour, heal the division between people?
  5. Read Ephesians 5:1-14. What does our community need to awake to? What might you personally need an awakening to?
  6. Jesus said “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few” (Matt 9:37). Do you think that’s still true today? How can we respond to this reality? What might it look like to be a “worker” in today’s world, and how can we encourage more people to take up this calling?

  2. How has following Jesus been a blessing to you personally? How could you share this blessing with nonbelievers in your circle of influence?
  3. Does the concept of being “chosen” burden or inspire you? What does it mean for God to “choose” an individual or a group?  Cf. Deuteronomy 18:1,5; Exodus 31:1-5; 1 Samuel 16:1
  4. What does it mean to bless someone?  Is blessing defined by the giver or the receiver?
