These questions are here to stimulate dialogue about today’s topic – feel free to skip around or discuss items not listed here.

  1. Why does human life matter if there is no God?
  2. A Christian convert form atheism and author of Chronicles of Narnia, C.S. Lewis said, “If I find in myself a desire which no experience in the world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.” How do you personally grapple with questions of purpose and meaning in a world without God? If you do believe in God, how does your belief shape your understanding of these questions?
  3. What do you think about the Biblical framework regarding creation, suffering, and redemption?  Do these ideas resonate with the reality you observe and experience?
  4. Have you ever experienced a profound sense of wonder in your life? What do you think these moments of awe can tell us?
  5. How has belief in God made a positive impact on you or the world around you?
  6. The sermon touched on the idea that faith requires a willingness to accept and believe in things that may not be fully understood. How do you approach faith in your own life, whether it’s faith in a religious sense or faith in other aspects of life? How do you balance the quest for knowledge and understanding with the acceptance of the unknown or the mysterious?
